3 weeks! Measurements.

Wowza! So, more inches are shed, not much weight, but, That's OK. The slower the weight comes off, the longer it stays off. Right? So, I'm drinking a LOT of water, and a bit of tea. When you go from drinking soda all day, to drinking water all day, you pee. A LOT! Well, at first you do. I'm finally peeing like a normal person, which is great.

I started taking a probiotic,  you know, because I'm old, or whatever. (NOT!) But, It's good for my urinary tract, so, I'll go with it. I've treated my body so awful, for so many years. Now, It's time to treat it nicer, before It's too late.

I'm going to jump right in.

Chest 36in... -3in total
Waist 33in... -5in total
Hips 41in... -2in total
That is crazy!
I weigh 159lbs, today. That's -6lbs total!

Okay. Yay! Picture time!

*I crop out my messy room. ;) *

Week 2 Measurements and weigh in.

Okay, all. Here goes.

I am only going to measure my waist and hips from now on.

My weight is 160. -3lbs

My waist is at 34.5 inches. -1.5 inches

My hips are at 42 inches.  -1 inch

Slowly but surely, inches are shedding. I haven't done anything outside of increasing my water intake, and removing 98% of my soda drinking habit.

My pics for this week.

Until next time!

Oh, Man! I had a small Dr. Pepper!

Gah! I was craving a soda, so bad, so,  I stopped at McDonalds, and got a small Dr. Pepper. I took a drink, and it was DISGUSTING! I am happy with this result. I like that I don't like the taste of Dr. Pepper anymore. That crap is the devil.

Tomorrow I measure, and weigh in. I don't think I have lost much, if anything at all. I have a feeling I should wait until I wake up from my sleep (around 2pm) to weigh in, because, I am typically bloated after working a night shift. It's quite strange, actually. So, stay tuned for that. =)

I have been without a bunch of soda for a couple of weeks now. My skin isn't horribly dry, I no longer get headaches from not drinking soda. I think a lot of stuff is much sweeter than when I was drinking tons of soda every day. I have better energy. I am more clear minded. (Does that make sense? lol) My body doesn't ache anywhere near as bad as it used to. I don't get pain shooting through my stomach anymore. (wondering how close to diabetes I really was. eek!) I also love drinking water now. My tea is usually pretty watered down, when I drink it, also, with no sugar or sweetener at all.

My daughter isn't very happy about not getting a soda as often as she was. I figure why not fix this now, rather than wait until she's too old, or too far gone to help her. I think, this upcoming week, I am going to start adding in a little bit workouts, cardio type stuff. Especially since I am running a 5k on Saturday! Oh dear. I sure am glad I quit smoking and quit drinking so much pop. Yeesh.

So, Here's something fun! Click here to see how much sugar is ACUTALLY in your sweet drink!

And, CLICK HERE to see how much you can gain, just from drinking soda!

Now, just think. I went from drinking at least 6 cans of soda a day, to less than 1, every other day.

Quite a few of you readers have quit drinking soda, recently, so, I would like to take this time to ask how its going for you? Are you noticing any changes with your body?

I am going to go do 25 jumping jacks, now. And maybe utilize the stairs. ha!

Good luck to you all! <3

And, check back tomorrow, for my measurements.

1 Week of no soda: Measurements!

So, as you all know, I quit drinking a lot of soda. Like, a LOT! I was drinking well over a 2 liter, every single day.

I know I didn't give much reason, as to why I'm getting rid of the soda, but, if you think about all of the health problems caused by soda pop alone, it was finally enough for me. I want to live long enough I see my kid graduate from college (if she chooses to go to college, which I hope she does), or for her first house/apartment, her marriage, and her babies.

Consider this, soda causes fatty buildup around the liver, and the skeletal system. It is linked to obesity, infertility, diabetes, and many other things, including cancer. All of which, are terrible.

Check out this post, to read more about lesser known side effects of drinking soda. Don't think that just because you are drinking diet, it's going to avoid the fat buildup. It just goes to different areas.

Okay, now, for the fun part! No one correctly guessed my inch loss. I was really hoping for the 8 inch loss, too. Damn.

So, here goes!

Chest: 38 -1in
Waist: 36 -2in
Hips: 43 0in
Thighs: 24 -1.5in
Bicep: 12.5 -1in
Calves: 15 0in
Weight: 163 -2lbs

Okay. So that's a grand total of -5.5 inches, and -2lbs. Not much, but a good start!

Here are pictures! Please excuse the sheet. I needed more of a contrast between my clothes and the bedding.

 Arm
Side

In a couple of weeks, I will be adding in a bit of a workout, but, not yet. I'm not ready yet. With all the pain and swelling in my jaw and mouth, and a tooth extraction coming up, hopefully Friday, I'm not much in the mood for jumping around.

Okay. Next contest!!

How much weight, in pounds, do you think I'll lose by next Wednesday?

If you guess correctly, you will win an awesome, handmade (by me), gift! I want to tell you, but, I LOVE surprises (sort of). And I know whoever wins, will love it! Because remember, I'm crafty. 😉 So, share, and get your friends and family involved.

If more than one person guesses correctly, the prize will go to the first person who guessed that answer.

GOOD LUCK!

Contest: Final Call

All you have to do, is guess how many inches I will lose/gain, by 11/12/14, since I quit drinking over a two litter of soda every day.

Full disclosure: I have some major swelling in my jaw joint, making it very difficult to chew food. And I'm on 2 antibiotics.

If you click here, it will take you to the page where you enter your guess in the comments section. There will be a prize for the winner! Think: **Christmas** 🎅

If you click here, it will take you to my original measurements.

And: GO!

It is Tastier than you Think...

I've only been off of soda, completely, for a few days, but, I have come to realize I am wanting better foods, since switching over to H2o.

For lunch, I had raw baby spinach, with sharp cheddar cheese, and salsa. That was delicious. (I am aware that I am a weirdo, and I have accepted it. Don't judge me.)

Something else that I've noticed, and I don't know if it is from not smoking, not drinking an assload of soda, or what, but, salsa is a LOT spicier. (Is that even spelled right? Is it even a word? It looks funny to me. Oh, well. You know what I'm saying.) I mean, salsa that I would eat, regularly, that was never spicy to me, before is now burning-my-tongue-off hot.  I guess it could be age, as well? Maybe? I wouldn't bet on that, though. I'm still pretty young. ;)

I am excited to measure again, on Wednesday. I kind-of measured a little yesterday, just out of curiosity, and I was down a whole inch off of my waist. Not too shabby. =D

No more sneak peaks, though. That takes all the fun from next Wednesday's post. ha!

Let's make this interesting!!

How many inches do you think I will have lost by Wednesday, 11/12/14?

I will have you guess 2 areas: Waist and Hips.
(You can find my original measurements on my first blog.)

First person to guess correctly, will get a homemade gift, from ME! =D
Make sure you leave your guesses in the comments section below, (on the actual blog, rather than the shared post).

Exciting!

Short and Sweet

There are Dr peppers in the fridge, in my locker room. O_o

The temptation is strong.

I think it's going to happen.

I'm going to have one.

One.

Dr.

Pepper.

But, no!

I mustn't.

Oh dear.

I'm f*cked. =^/

*12oz in 48+ hours isn't bad. Right? Right?!*

****UPDATE****
I DID NOT GET A SODA!! REPEAT: I DID NOT GET A SODA!
Yay me! That means I deserve one, now, right? Ha! Just kidding.
